Onondaga Township
Notice of Snowplow and Sidewalk Snow Removal Bids
Onondaga Township will be accepting bids for snowplowing and sidewalk cleaning for the winter season of 2023-2024. Please send all sealed bids to Onondaga Township, PO Box 67, Onondaga, MI 49264. You may also bring into the office located at 4756 Baldwin St, Onondaga or use the Onondaga Township Drop Box by 4 pm on October 11, 2023.
A. PLOWING
THERE WILL BE A MINIMUN OF 2” OF SNOW BEFORE PLOWING.
- PLOWING WILL ONLY BE ONCE IN ANY 24-HOUR PERIOD UNLESS REQUESTED BY THE TOWNSHIP BOARD.
- PLOWER MUST AGREE TO REPAIR OR PAY FOR REPAIR PER ESTIMATE, ANY AND ALL DAMAGE DONE TO PREMISES FROM PLOWING SNOW.
- ANY UNSAFE CONDITIONS OR HAZARDOUS AREAS DUE TO SNOW OR ICE WILL BE REPORTED TO A BOARD MEMBER.
- PROPERTIES TO BE PLOWED INCLUDE THE;
A. TOWNSHIP HALL – PARKING LOT, IN FRONT AND AROUND THE HALL, ACROSS THE ROAD FROM THE HALL WHERE PEOPLE CAN PARK.
B. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT – IN FRONT OF THE DOORS, IN THE AREA THE FIREFIGHTERS PARK THEIR CARS AND IN THE AREA WHERE THE BASKETBALL COURT IS
C. ONONDAGA CEMETERY WILL BE PLOWED ON REQUEST DUE TO A FUNERAL.
D. LANE CEMETERY WILL BE PLOWED ON REQUEST DUE TO A FUNERAL. - THE AREA IN FRONT OF THE DUMPSTER WILL BE KEPT CLEAR
- TOWNSHIP WILL FURNISH SALT
- REMOVE FROM AREA PILES THAT ARE VISUAL HAZARDS OR OBSTRUCTIONS
B. SIDEWALKS. - THERE WILL BE A MINIMUN OF 1” OF SNOW BEFORE CLEANING WALKS.
- CLEANING WALKS WILL ONLY BE ONCE IN ANY 24-HOUR PERIOD UNLESS REQUESTED BY THE TOWNSHIP BOARD.
- WALKS WILL BE CLEANED PRIOR TO 9AM ON DAYS THE OFFICE IS OPEN.
- SIDEWALKS TO BE SHOVELED AND SALTED INCLUDE;
A. IN FRONT OF THE TOWNSHIP HALL FROM THE OUTSIDE OF ONE DRIVE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE OTHER,
B. THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF THE YELLOW BUILDING AND VETERANS PARK - NO VEHICLES ON SIDEWALKS LARGER THAN WALK BEHIND SNOWBLOWERS
- SHOVELING AND SALTING WILL ALSO BE DONE ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING FROM THE KITCHEN DOOR TO THE SIDEWALK AND ALONG THE RAIL IN THE HANDICAP PARKING SPACE.
- NO PILE OF SNOW WILL BE LEFT AT THE END OF TOWNSHIP
